Woohooo!!!! Last Day !!!!That’s the most common phrase that you hear whenever it's a high school student’s last day before vacations. High school students have different favorite activities during break. Some of them are sleeping, going on family vacations, playing their favorite sport or just watching Netflix. 

Mohammad Salaar is one of the students who loves to stay home and have fun. He is a sophomore in Pelham Lab High School. He said the school has a good amount of vacation and he never gets negatively affected by it. 

“ My favorite activity to do during the break is just playing at home. Pelham Lab High School gives us the right amount of vacations and it is just balanced,” said Salaar.

For some students, staying home is really not their favorite activity. They want themselves to be out there and have fun, see the world and discover new adventures. Chris Siligos, a freshman at Pelham Lab High School really enjoys seeing the world  and says the summer break is long and good but sometimes he thinks they should extend the winter and spring breaks.

“I think that summer break is exactly the perfect length but for winter and spring break I think management should reconsider the length and extend them especially because the weather during winter break really destroys our plans of going anywhere,” said Siligos.

Some people just love to play different sports and that also includes indoor and outdoor sports. Angel Torres, sophomore at Pelham Lab High School, says that students get enough vacations and due to his interest in sports he thinks that vacations not only help students relax but also help mentally too. 

“I really like basketball so for me I think there are enough vacations all around the year that really allow me to play and also learn at the same time. Another big benefit for enough vacations is that it helps students maintain their mental and physical health and gives them time to improve both,” said Torres.

Just like students, teachers are also a big part of our society. Mercy Romero, Spanish teacher at Pelham Lab High School thinks that students do get enough vacation time. 

“ I think high school students do get enough vacations so they can enjoy their free time because I think this also eliminates another problem from our society and that is teen depression. Being able to have free time also helps students to make them fresh and I think this also helps teachers to enjoy their time too as we are also humans but just under the cover of teacher,” said Romero.
